Teatro Municipal of Quetzaltenango The theatre of Quetzaltenango. The building is nice, unfortunately nice plays are seldom offered. Cathedral of Quetzaltenango The facade of the old cathedral of Xela, which was destroyed during a major earthquake in the beginning of the 20th century. The new cathedral was built directly beyond this facade.
Saturday Afternoon in the Central Park The Central Park is a nice place to walk around or to sit and chat. Electricity in Xela No wonder the electricity brakes down from time to time.
Street in Quetzaltenango A bridge in the streets of Xela. More a monument than a functional bridge. The "Curva" The "Curva" is the place where you can find the most enthusiastic fans of Quetzaltenango's soccer team, the "Superchivos". Although their name is "Club Social y Deportivo Xelaju M.C." they are called Superchivos after their mascot, a ram (= Chivo).
Central parque of Quetzaltenango The central park of Quetzaltenango. Most of the bigger cities in Guatemala have such a place. Procession in Quetzaltenango A Catholic procession in Xela. Guatemala still is a mostly Catholic country.
